Manuel Loff, b. 1965, PhD, Professor at the Department of History and Political and International Studies, Universidade do Porto (Portugal), researcher at the Contemporary History Institute (Universidade Nova de Lisboa), PhD in History and Civilization, European University Institute (Florence) MA in Contemporary Iberian History, Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (Madrid). He taught at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has being lecturing in several European, Israeli and Brazilian universities.

His main research interests deal with Political, Social and Ideological History of the 20th century, including International Relations, Colonialism and Education. He is currently developing research focusing on social and political change in Portugal in the 1960’s and 1970’s, both on national and on comparative international perspectives, and is particularly concerned with the study of social forms of (re)construction of historical memory.
